Fort Worth: A Southern Exposure

Fort Worth: A Southern Exposure

April 13, 2024 9am – 11am
T&P Train Station

Join us for a free walking tour of Fort Worth’s near south side. This month, we’ll learn about the area’s history, including some famous businesses that were established here, some beautiful architecture, the impact of the railroad, the Great Southside Fire of 1909, and the 1889 Spring Palace. The exciting area is home to shops, factories, churches, galleries, and craft breweries. Come join us to learn all about this deeply historic part of Fort Worth.

Just make your reservations (space is limited) and come enjoy the 2-3 mile walk down and around historic South Main Street, with lots of stops along the way. We start at the historic T&P Train Station on the patio next to The T&P Tavern at 9:00 a.m. The monthly tours are given by knowledgeable guides who share a love of Fort Worth’s history.

There is free parking at meters along W Lancaster Avenue or paid parking in the lot in front of The T&P building. Transportation directly to The T&P Station from Dallas, DFW Airport, and mid-city transit stations is available via Trinity Metro.

There will be plenty of free breakfast burritos and tour guides. Please RSVP. This tour is free to individuals and families.

This is always a great event and an opportunity to see and learn more about the history of our unique and special city.
